On November 7, 2023, Ambassador Hou Yue visited the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and communicated with Research Professor Emeritus and Former Director Stein Tønnesson and other staff.

Ambassador Hou said that PRIO focuses on the international peace studies and enjoys a well-renowned reputation both at home and abroad. Nowadays, China-Norway relations have maintained a healthy and stable development, and secured close cooperation in economy, trade, and green development. Exchanges among research institutes are also an important part of China-Norway relations, and could play a vital role in policy making. It is hoped that PRIO will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese research institutes, and provide more advice and suggestions for the promotion of bilateral relations.

Mr. Tønnesson welcomed Ambassador Hou's visit and gave a brief introduction of the institute. He said that PRIO adopts an interdisciplinary approach to study international issues and maintains good cooperation with many international research institutes. We are willing to further strengthen exchanges and dialogues with Chinese colleagues to enhance mutual understanding and seek consensus, and jointly contribute to the international peace studies.
